Milano, snatches the gold necklace from an old woman: 31-year-old arrested

The State Police, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Milano, carried out a precautionary custody order in prison towards of a 31-year-old Egyptian citizen held responsible for the crime of robbery multi-aggravated against an elderly woman who was attacked and robbed of her gold necklace inside the entrance hall of the building in viale Brianza, while he was returning home after doing the shopping.

The investigation activity was started by the policemen of the Investigation Team of the Garibaldi Police Station Venice following the robbery committed on Saturday 11 May 2024 from a man who, after followed the 86 year old woman, he attacked her from behind, he pinned her down with his arm around her neck and he snatched the gold necklace she was wearing, of value of about 10.000 euros, then push her to the ground and run away.

Following the investigations, the GlP Office of the Court of Milano, at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office, he issued, dated 24.06.2024, a precautionary custody order in prison against the suspect, carried out by the police after he had become untraceable both at his home and at his workplace.

Through viewing the video surveillance images of the condominium, the agents of the police station in via Schiaparelli they identified the 31-year-old and seized the clothing he was wearing during the robbery, including a black T-Shirt.

The man, with several precedents for robbery committed in the same area, was stopped by policemen last Wednesday in a bar in San Giuliano Milanese (Milano) while he played slot machines and was then taken to the San Vittore prison.
