The Legnanesi return to the Repower Theater with a thousand laughs
From 5 to 22 January the new show "All we have to do is laugh" to restore hope to the theatre
Past and present, tradition and current affairs: there is the whole world of The Legnanese in the show "We just have to laugh", with which they return to the stage of the Repower Theater in Assago (right where the show suddenly stopped due to the health emergency on 23 February 2020) from 5 to January 30 2022: it will be an opportunity for many spectators to have fun together with the funniest family in Italy and return to living the theatrical experience, in safety. "We really missed the atmosphere of the Repower Theatre, where we feel at home, and of the its wonderful audience who always welcomed us with extraordinary enthusiasm - say the Legnanesi - We are happy to return to this stage with the entire cast, actors, boys, technicians, more sparkling than ever". In “We just have to laugh”, we begin with Mabilia (Enrico Dalceri), more chic than ever – as befits a trip to Paris – who admires the Mona Lisa together with mother Teresa (Antonio Provasio) and father Giovanni Colombo (Lorenzo Cordara), who sport reflective yellow vests in the rooms of the Louvre, while outside the demonstrators make their yellow vests the symbol of the protest, chased by the gendarmes (Giordano Fenocchio and Fabrizio Rossi). With a tribute to Leonardo da Vinci, the Mona Lisa is at the center of their attention: the masterpiece must
return to Italy and Teresa, regardless of the existence of a spell linked to the theft of the famous painting, pushes her husband Giovanni to commit the crime. The time for a play of lights, and here is the Colombo family catapulted into 1504, the year the work was created. Between
an austere Leonardo (Giovanni Mercuri) and an enterprising Gian Giacomo Caprotti known as Salai (Maicol Trotta), the imperturbable and unattractive Mona Lisa (
Franco Cattaneo) the arrival of Michelangelo (Francesco Pellicini) and of a slightly statuesque David (
Mauro Quercia), here begins the usual round of jokes, misunderstandings,
laughter, fast-paced rhythms, homages to the Italian genius, expertly mixed by Provasio, who signs the lyrics together with Mitia Del Brocco. There will still be many surprises in the second half. Over two hours of show, which prelude the always exciting grand finale in a tuxedo, to remember that, despite the problems and difficulties of life, "all we can do is laugh!": a message that always characterizes the comedy of the Legnanesi, and which acquires even more meaning in the much desired return to the stage and in the emotion of artists and spectators, together.
