The European ENFAST network is in action: a dangerous international fugitive has been captured in Switzerland and extradited to Italy.
An operation coordinated by the Service for International Police Cooperation (SCIP) and the FAST Italia team led to the arrest and extradition of Flavius Alexa Savu, convicted of extortion. Collaboration between the Italian, Romanian, and Swiss units of the ENFAST network was crucial.

He landed on the afternoon of October 16th, at the airport of Malpensa, escorted by the staff of the Fugitive Active Search Team (FAST) Italy of the Service for International Police Cooperation (SCIP), Flavius Alexa Savu, international fugitive arrested in Switzerland last September 9th in the Canton Aargau, during a complex transnational operation.
Il Romanian citizen, convicted in 2018 a 4 years in prison for extortion conspiracy, was wanted in Europe on the joint initiative of the FAST Italy and Investigative Unit of the Provincial Carabinieri Command of Milano.
The search for the fugitive had begun on June 12, 2025, coordinated by FAST Italia in collaboration with the Romanian team ENFAST (European Network of Fugitive Active Search Teams).
The first investigations had allowed to ascertain that Flavius Alexa Savu returned to Romania in 2021, where a roadside police check had led to the identification of a possible residential address.
Although the house search had had a negative outcome, the investigative activity had confirmed the human presence on Romanian territory.
Il 30nd June, new elements collected thanks to the coordination between the Romanian team and FAST Italy they brought to light the hypothesis that the fugitive had moved to Switzerland.

Based on this information, the FAST Italy, in close collaboration with the Investigative Unit of the Carabinieri of Milano, requested the Attorney General's Office Milano the issuance of a European Arrest Warrant (EAW).
The mandate was then forwarded to the SIRe.NE Division of the SCIP for the activation of the localization operating procedures within the area a Schengen.

Flavius Alexa Savu was stuck at home, without resistance, and subjected to personal search.
He was subsequently taken into custody for extradition purposes, informing the authorities of the decision not to join the simplified extradition procedure.
Once the formalities were completed, it was handed over to the Italian authorities and escorted to Italy by FAST teamof the Service for International Police Cooperation.
