Sesto San Giovanni: Police arrest 44-year-old man for four minimarket robberies.
La State Police Milano performed a arrest of a suspect in the crime of aggravated robbery against a 44-year-old Italian citizen with a criminal record, held responsible for four robberies committed between August 16th and September 6th against minimarkets run by Bangladeshi citizens.
The investigation activity, conducted by the agents of the Investigative Team of the Sesto San Giovanni Police Station, started last August after the complaint from the owner of a minimarket, who claimed to have been threatened and robbed by a man armed with a knife, delivering the daily takings. In the following days, the investigators' attention focused on a scooter stolen from a national postal service company, repainted with spray can.
The scooter was intercepted and tailed by the agents until, at the moment of the order to stop, the driver – corresponding to the descriptions of the robber and filmed by the surveillance videos – has accelerated, triggering a high-speed chase, taking the plunge streets going against the flow and going beyond intersections with red lights. The house search has allowed us to find the clothes and the knife used for robberies. The 44-year-old was recognized by the owners of the four minimarkets subjected to photographic identification.
