The ceremony was attended by president Attilio Fontana, the councilor for Housing and Social Housing Paul Franco, the Undersecretary for Olympic Infrastructure Alexander Morelli, the president of Aler Milano Alan Rizzi, the FISI president Flavio Roda, the president of CONI Lombardia Marco Riva, and the Sports Councillor of the Municipality of Milano Martina Riva.

A strategic intervention between sport and city
The ribbon cutting marked the delivery of the first redeveloped pavilion, where FISI can start its activities thanks to a twenty-year contract with agreed rent.
The entire project will be completed in the next few months with an investment of 2,8 million euro, aimed at ensuring safety, efficiency and full usability of a building of great historical value.
The building, built in 1911 by architect Giannino Ferrini, is recognized as cultural heritage assetIt extends over two floors of approximately 500 square meters each, plus a basement. FISI had expressed interest in this location by responding to the public tender promoted by Aler. Milano.
"This inauguration represents a fundamental step in our journey of valorising the Olympic legacy" – declared the president Attilio Fontana.
The governor stressed that Milano, gateway to the Lombard mountains, remains the most appropriate location to host the Federation's headquarters.
Urban regeneration as a community driver
The Housing Councillor Paul Franco highlighted the social dimension of the project: “Restoring vitality to a historic building and hosting an organization like FISI within it means strengthening the bond between the neighborhood, the city and the world of sport.Regenerating quality spaces creates cohesion, safety, and new opportunities for those who live in the area."
President Aler Alan Rizzi he defined the intervention as "a concrete legacy to the city of Milano for the Olympic Games”.
"The building, he explained, was already perfect for becoming a federal center of excellence. Its presence will help revitalize the entire area.".
The FISI President Flavio Roda he underlined the strategic choice of the location: “It would be a contradiction to move elsewhere. Milano It's close to the mountains, it's our reference point. This venue will be the heart of winter sports after the Olympics.".
