Milano, 22 September 2025 – Moments of tension and violence were recorded today at the Central Station of Milano, the scene of fierce clashes during a pro-Palestine march. The demonstrations, which according to initial reports began as protests, quickly escalated into scenes of urban warfare, with episodes of violence, destruction, and attacks on law enforcement.

Corbetta's statements

Alessandro Corbetta, leader of the League in the Lombardy region, spoke harshly about the incident, calling it "a very serious matter that we can no longer tolerate."

"The clashes that occurred today at the Central Station," Corbetta declared, "with violence, destruction, and police attacked by the usual Red extremists and pro-Palestine protesters, are shameful. There is no connection between the absurd strike called for Palestine and the urban warfare seen today: it was merely a pretext for devastation and destruction."

The councilor then expressed his hope that the perpetrators of the violence will be quickly identified and brought to justice:

“Whoever destroys and attacks the police must pay and go to jail, without extenuating circumstances.”

The call to the left

Corbetta also pointed the finger at the center-left, accusing it of downplaying incidents that put citizens' safety at risk:

“The left, at the local and national level, cannot continue to turn a blind eye to these episodes that undermine civil coexistence. We can no longer allow this Milano you become the stage for extremists and violent people who devastate entire neighborhoods."

Solidarity with law enforcement and travellers

The League leader expressed his full solidarity with the police, who once again found themselves facing violence in a difficult and delicate context. He also had a thought for ordinary citizens and travelers who were unwittingly caught up in the chaos that erupted at Central Station:

"Our deepest solidarity goes to the police who once again confronted these professional troublemakers today. Our sympathies also go to the travelers, forced to endure enormous inconvenience and fear. Milano It is a land of work and civilization, it cannot be transformed into a battleground for extremist fringes."

A security issue still unresolved

The story brings the issue of security in large Italian cities and in particular in the centre of political and social debate Milano, where episodes of violence linked to unauthorized demonstrations or the degeneration of marches continue to spark controversy and calls for greater determination.
