The Carabinieri Forestali intervene in two distinct scenarios: the rescue of a thoroughbred that fell into the river and the seizure of fruit soaked in paraflu to eliminate coypu.

In the last few days a patrol of the Carabinieri Forestali Nucleus of Castiglione delle Stiviere (MN), during a normal patrol service on the territory, passing between the municipalities of Canneto sull'Oglio and Piadena Drizzona, they noticed a horse fallen into the river who, in obvious difficulty, was unable to reach the shore in order to return to the surface.
The Forestry Carabinieri immediately activated the Fire Brigade, organizing the rescue operation along the Cremona bank.
The thoroughbred horse, female, was harnessed and thanks to the presence of the ATS veterinarian present on site, the correct method of extracting the animal was planned.

The Forestry Carabinieri collaborated in the operations to secure the animal. It was decided to harness the horse, sedate it and then lift it up with the intervention of a Fire Brigade helicopter. The soldiers decided to make one last attempt, before moving on to the phase described above. An attempt that was successful: The horse was lifted by hand and helped up the river bank.
The owner of the horse, a 50 year old from Piadena Drizzona, was on site, after the visit by the vet, he took back possession of the thoroughbred.
