The curtain rises on Hiker's Show, one of the most anticipated events in the French outdoor scene, a point of reference for trekking, hiking and active tourism enthusiasts.
Liguria presents itself with a dynamic exhibition area, 11 sellers ready to tell the best of Ligurian hospitality and an offer that ranges from the Alps to the beauty of the coast. Strong of the title of European Region of Sport 2025, Liguria brings to Lyon its perfect mix of nature, adventure and well-being: breathtaking trails, opportunities for relaxation and tailor-made experiences will be the protagonists of the 17th edition of the show, underway at the Lyon Congress Centre until Sunday 23 March.
"We are continuing this start of 2025 in a big way being present at the most important international tourism fairs: we could not therefore miss the Salon du Randonneur in Lyon – declares theRegional Councillor for Tourism Luca Lombardi –. The French market has historically been one of the reference markets in the sector since the transalpines are the second in terms of presences in Liguria after Germany and are constantly growing. In 2024, in fact, out of 7,4 million foreign tourists, almost 1,1 were French with an increase of 3,5% on 2023, a year in which, in turn, there was a growth of 4,22% on 2022 and 30% compared to the pre-covid period. In Liguria we have a tourism ecosystem that moves passions and numbers: in particular, outdoor tourism, in which the Lyon show is specialized, is growing, driving the related industries and bringing an increasingly international public to our coasts and villages".
With over 5.000 mXNUMX of exhibition space and a rich program of conferences and workshops, the fair attracts every year a highly profiled audience of trekking, cycle tourism and sustainable tourism enthusiasts. Liguria therefore presented itself with some of the jewels in the crown of its offering, from the vertical panoramas of the Cinque Terre to the inland routes immersed in greenery, up to the accommodation facilities designed for hikers.
A structured offer, which responds to the new needs of travellers increasingly looking for authentic experiences. Three strategic assets: open seasonality, accessibility and inclusiveness. Thanks to the favorable climate all year round and a varied network of routes, the region promotes active tourism that goes beyond traditional flows, distributing the presences in the different months and territories. Great attention is also paid to accessibility, with itineraries suitable for hikers of all levels and initiatives aimed at making the discovery of the territory a truly inclusive experience.
The Ligurian stand welcomes visitors, operators and enthusiasts looking for new destinations. The challenge is clear: consolidate Liguria as an outdoor destination of excellence, ready to welcome those who love to travel at a slow pace, explore and experience nature in all its forms. And from the first day of the fair, the direction is already set.
