Liguria Region launches "RiGenerazioni": €4 million for training and jobs in the hinterland.

The Liguria Region presents ReGenerations, a new strategic measure included in the 2025 programming and financed with 4 million euro of the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) 2021-2027. The goal is clear: promote job placement and revitalize the most peripheral inland areas through targeted training courses and concrete job opportunities.

The tender will be open from January 15 to March 17, 2026 and turns to unemployed or inactive people, older, resident or domiciled in Liguria. The projects will be submitted by partnerships composed of a maximum of five entities, which must include at least:

  • a non-coastal Ligurian municipality,

  • an accredited training body,

  • an accredited body for employment services, possibly coinciding with the training body.

According to the Councillor for Education Simona Ferro and the Councillor for ESF Programming Marco Scajola, will be rewarded "the proposals most capable of revitalizing the territories through professional training courses, extracurricular internships o work experience, promoting a real approach of participants to new employment opportunities. Projects must be born from a strong development idea, linked to local growth needs and potential”.

The measure provides for a strong involvement of the Inland municipalities, which will have an operational role both in the planning and implementation of the interventions. A system of support for training and internships, useful for improving: the involvement of recipients, coordination with public and private entities and the overall impact of projects on the territory.ReGenerations – the councilors further underline – supports citizens and territories together, promoting new occupation e counteracting depopulation of the internal areas”.

The initiative arises from the programming approved by the Regional Council in January 2025, followed by a large territorial survey carried out in collaboration with Anci Liguria and numerous meetings with municipalities and local stakeholders. The call will be managed by ALFA Liguria, the Regional Agency for Employment, Training, and Accreditation. Applications may be submitted exclusively online through the platform Open/gulf.
