Liguria: The experimental phase of the disability reform has begun.
“Liguria is one of the first regions in Italy to start concretely the fexperimental phase of the Disability Reform. This is undoubtedly an important milestone, but above all it is a starting point: our objective, following the guidelines of the Reform, is to place the person, his Rights And its need. To do this, it's necessary to initiate a process of dialogue and listening, particularly with third sector organizations and associations, which can understand people's needs and voices. Our goal is to build a system that offers assistance e cycle increasingly targeted and tailored to the needs of individual patients, making social and health services increasingly accessible, integrated, and inclusive. Genoa has historically been a national and international hub in the fight against multiple sclerosis, both in terms of research and care. We want to continue on this positive path, aware that much has been achieved, but we must continue our commitment to continually improve.
This was stated by Massimo Nicolò, Councilor for Health and Social-Health Policies, speaking this morning at the conference "Towards Disability Reform in the Genoa Area: An Active Alliance between Institutions, Associations, and the Local Community," held in the Sala Trasparenza of the Liguria Region. The event is organized in collaboration between the Italian Federation for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Families (FISH) and AISM (Italian Multiple Sclerosis Association).
