Liguria is investing €2,9 million to train 600 new healthcare professionals: 20 free courses are launching across the region.

Liguria is investing €2,9 million to train 600 new healthcare professionals: 20 free courses are launching across the region.

The Liguria Region invests 2,9 million euros for the activation of 20 training courses for 600 new Social Health Workers (OSS) throughout the region, with the aim of strengthen the Ligurian health and social care system and create new qualifying employment opportunities for citizens.

"With this initiative," explain Simona Ferro, Councilor for Education, Marco Scajola, Councilor for European Social Fund Programming, and Massimo Nicolò, Councilor for Health, "the Liguria Region is continuing to strengthen its welfare system and training new professionals essential to the functioning of personal services.

This initiative not only addresses the growing need for qualified personnel, but also offers concrete employment prospects for unemployed and inactive Ligurians. The decision to refinance these training programs is supported by the positive results achieved by the first edition of the program, launched in 2023 and recently concluded, which led to the qualification of approximately 450 people and the immediate hiring of over 50% of participants.

Courses, financed with resources from the European Social Fund Plus 2021-2027, will be distributed throughout the territory: 9 in Genoa, 2 in Chiavari and 3 in each of the other provinces (Imperia, Savona, La Spezia). Il the training course lasts 1.000 hours and includes:

  • theoretical lessons,

  • laboratory activities,

  • professional internships at public and private healthcare and social healthcare facilities.

La participation is completely free , qualification obtained is recognized at national levelThe courses are intended for residents or domiciled in Liguria, unemployed or unemployed, in possession of the requirements set by national and regional legislation.

The notice was approved following the adoption of the new national provisions on the profile of the healthcare worker, recently defined at the State-Regions Conference and implemented by the Liguria Region last August 6th. training projects must be submitted to ALFA by October 22, 2025 by accredited bodies.
