Liguria named "Best European Region of Sport 2025": sport as a lever for tourism and inclusion.

“Investing in sport means building the future of people and territories. In Liguria we have always believed in it and today, with the recognition of Best European Region of Sport 2025, we see a strategy made of concrete, inclusive and sustainable choices rewarded".

Thus the regional councillor for sport Simona Ferro intervened today at TTG Travel Experience of Rimini, within the panel “ACES – Territories in Movement”, organised by ACES Europe e ACES ItalyIn partnership with Decathlon and with the patronage of European Commission.

During the meeting, entitled “Sport as a driving force for territorial promotion, events and sustainability for new-era tourism”, Councillor Ferro illustrated the policies implemented by the Liguria Region to make sport a engine of social, tourist and economic development.

“Liguria is an open-air gym, with a variety of landscapes and a climate that allow sports to be practiced in every season,” Ferro emphasized. “We want to enhance all of this to build a model of widespread, slow and conscious tourism, which also generates opportunities in inland villages And in the less busy periods from traditional tourist flows. It means promoting health, culture, inclusion and work".

The panel was attended, among others, by Deputy Minister of Sports of Albania Endrit Hoxha Emilia-Romagna Sports Councilor Roberta Frisoni , Mayor of Bergamo, Elena Carnevali.
