Liguria, 2 million tender for space economy companies underway: focus on satellites, innovation and sustainability

GENOVA. It opened yesterday call for 2 million euros entirely dedicated to the businesses of the space economy in Liguria. The measure, activated with resources from the PR FESR 2021-2027, supports with non-repayable contributions the development of innovative applications and services based on satellite data and services for Telecommunications, Navigation and Earth Observation.

They can submit application, from June 27th to July 31st, micro, small, medium and large enterprises, individually or in association in ATS, operating in the areas of the regional Smart Specialization Strategy (S3). Contributions may reach up to 70% for industrial research and 45% for experimental development, with a maximum of 500 thousand euros per project.

“We are faced with a sector that represents one of the most promising opportunities for economic and technological development, also for Liguria – declares the councilor delegated to Economic Development and ERDF Programming Alessio Piana –. With this call, we want stimulate businesses to develop solutions capable of improving the quality of life of citizens and increasing the competitiveness of our territory, contributing to addressing global challenges concerning environmental monitoring, logistics, energy and risk management. From 3 to 6 July, at the Space Festival to be held in Busalla, we will also have the opportunity to delve deeper into this call and, more generally, the potential of the space economy, a sector in which Liguria wants to be a protagonist.”

The call, which requires the submission of requests through the “Bandi on line” platform of Filse, will finance projects that they foresee industrial research and experimental development activities for innovative space downstream applications in various sectors, including critical infrastructure, environment, urban cores and health.
