Meldola: Steals and flees to avoid a check, arrested

The Carabinieri of the Operative and Radiomobile Nucleus of the Meldola Company, have executed the detention order, issued by the Criminal Enforcement Office of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Forlì, against a Romanian citizen resident in the province who, convicted of some aggravated thefts as well as resisting a public official and carrying weapons or instruments capable of causing offence, must serve a definitive sentence of 4 years of imprisonment, in addition to the payment of a fine of 3.000,00 euros.

The facts, from which the definitive sentence applied by the Court of Forlì arose, date back to the period between 26 March 2020 and the night of 2 April XNUMX when, following a series of aggravated thefts occurred in companies in Forlì and Meldola, the subject was intercepted by a patrol of the Meldola Carabinieri radiomobile while driving a car which later turned out to be stolen. In this circumstance the man forced control and fled on board the car, which was later abandoned and recovered by the carabinieri.

The immediate and in-depth investigations allowed the recovery of part of the stolen goods contained in the vehicle, together with various burglary tools as well as trace his identity, identified as responsible for several aggravated thefts, which occurred in the previous nights in companies in Forlì and Meldola. The man, after the formal procedures and as ordered by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Forlì, he was taken to the local prison, where he will serve his sentence.
