It was, in effect, an illegal “hotel” or “bed and breakfast” in the heart of the city, for which the owner had never obtained or requested any authorization. Not even all the rental contracts for the guests were registered.

The Flying Squad investigators found that all the foreigners hosted were “invisible” and therefore the owner had never made any report to the police station, thus not allowing any checks, a practice that had fueled a real free zone in the heart of the city, as demonstrated by the discovery of drugs during a previous check.

Yesterday the owner was summoned to the Police Headquarters and 16 fines were contested against her for never having communicated to the Police Headquarters the names of the people hosted, for a total of 56.000 euros.
