Carabinieri Control Operation in Forlì: Arrests, Reports and Fines for Road Crimes and Thefts

The Carabinieri of the departments dependent on the Provincial Command of Forlì, have carried out a series of territory control services along the Via Emilia (in the section where it connects the Artusian municipality to the Mercurial town), aimed at prevention of predatory crimes in the commercial and industrial areas present as well as the control of road traffic, to discourage the behaviors that have the greatest impact on road accidents. The activities, carried out mainly in the evening and at night, have led to following results:

• two young people, one arrested by the Carabinieri of the Forlimpopoli Station and the other reported from colleagues at Ronco Station for "aggravated theft", for having respectively stolen bottles of spirits and various goods, from inside two supermarkets in the area. All the stolen goods were recovered and returned to the rightful owners. The arrested person was brought before the Judge of the Court of Forlì who the arrest was validated arranging, in his regard, pending the trial for which the terms for the defense have been requested, the obligation to report to the competent Carabinieri command;
• two motorists reported by the Carabinieri of the San Martino in Strada Station and by the Carabinieri of the NORM of the Forlì Company, the first for "refusal to submit to a breathalyser test" and "resisting a public official" because, caught driving in an evident state of psychophysical alteration, he refused to submit to the legal checks, resisting the operating carabinieri while, the second, for "driving under the influence" because he was caught driving with a blood alcohol level higher than the legal limit. In both cases the driving licenses were withdrawn for the subsequent suspension (by the Prefecture of Forlì) while the vehicles in the first case are entrusted to a suitable person and the other subjected to administrative seizure;
• a man fined for “drunkenness” and reported for “refusal to indicate his identity” and “resisting a public official” by the NORM Carabinieri of the Forlì Company because, in an evidently altered state, after having disturbed the customers of a public establishment, he refused to give his personal details, threatening and attacking the soldiers who intervened.

The controls, carried out with the intent of discouraging the commission of illegal conduct, will continue with specific services in the areas of the territory "considered most at risk".
