Cesenatico: Albanian illegal immigrant arrested, he had already been expelled in 2023

The Carabinieri of the Cesenatico Radiomobile Unit, this afternoon, Albanian citizen arrested after clandestinely returning to Italy after being expelled in 2023 by order of the Prefecture of Forlì Cesena.

The man, a 30-year-old with a criminal record, noticed wandering around with a suspicious attitude in a parking lot in the center of Cesenatico, was stopped by a Radiomobile patrol and checked.

In this circumstance, the military – who also had it subjected to a search, finding him in possession of a knife with a blade of approximately 20 centimetres (seized) which he kept in the pouch he was wearing – showed an Albanian passport (which at first glance appeared regular) and declined the personal details reported on the document. However, the Carabinieri were not satisfied with the first check and having perceived, also from his attitude, that there could be something anomalous, they decided to accompany him to the barracks and carry out further investigations. It thus emerged that the passport exhibited did not belong to the arrested person but to a similar and contemporary family member, as well as the personal details declared.

The identification carried out through photo identification and fingerprinting then allowed us to trace the real identity of the 30-year-old, who had been expelled in 2023, with a ban on re-entering Italy for at least 3 years.

At the end of the investigations, the Carabinieri proceeded to arrest him for "illegal re-entry into the national territory", "false declarations regarding personal identity", "impersonation" and "possession of a cutting weapon".

This morning, after a night spent in the security cell of the Carabinieri Company Command of Cesenatico, as ordered by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Forlì, he was subjected to the validation hearing with possible summary trial which concluded with the validation of the arrest and, pending the next hearing, at the request of the terms of defense presented by the lawyer, it was the precautionary measure of the obligation to report daily to the Judicial Police was applied.
