Cesenatico (Forlì-Cesena), three alleged perpetrators of brutal robberies arrested by the Carabinieri
The Carabinieri of the Cesenatico Company's Operational Unit and of the local main station, in the last few days, have carried out three arrests in execution of as many precautionary measures ordered by the GIP of Forlì (at the request of the local Public Prosecutor's Office), against young people, all residents of the Rimini area, against whom the military have collected numerous indications of guilt and considered presumed responsible for two ferocious robberies that took place, on two separate evenings, between Cesenatico and Longiano.
In the first days of November, between Cesenatico and Longiano two robberies occurred, carried out with violence by a group of individuals against the victims, previously attracted through a well-known dating chat. The group of criminals always used the same modus operandi: they lured the victims, always men, through a well-known dating chat and arranged a meeting with one of the perpetrators who acted as bait, pretending to be interested in getting to know the person contacted better.
The meeting was set, at night, in an isolated place in the countryside of Cesenatico and Longiano. Here the victim – just arrived and got out of her car, thinking she was meeting the person she had been chatting with – found herself surrounded by the gang that, after having beaten her and rendered her harmless, immobilized her and tied her up with plastic ties. At the same time, the robbers stole his money and cell phone, then, not satisfied, with his own car, they took the victim to an ATM, usually in the Rimini area, where, after further threats of violence, they forced her to withdraw more cash and to make transfers to their rechargeable card; finally, they disappeared, leaving her in shock.
In both circumstances, The criminals used masks (Halloween style) and threatened the victims with death if they reported them. At least two confirmed incidents, on which the military of the Cesenatico Carabinieri Company, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Forlì, immediately began investigations. The meticulous and thorough work of the Carabinieri allowed them to identify a suspicious vehicle, recurring in the various incidents, on which the investigative attention was concentrated.
Just by delving into this track, the military managed to identify one of the alleged robbers, a 24-year-old with no criminal record, of foreign origins, and reconstructed contacts and movements (thanks to a complex and detailed technical investigation, ordered by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Forlì), they also managed to trace the accomplices.
On the basis of the serious and consistent circumstantial evidence collected by the Carabinieri e, having assessed the violence and dangerousness of the three, the Investigation Judge of Forlì, at the request of the PM in charge of the investigation, he issued the precautionary measure of house arrest against them, carried out by the soldiers of the Cesenatico Company in the Rimini area, with the support of the Carabinieri of the local Provincial Command.
