Cesena: extraordinary checks by the Carabinieri, numerous arrests and reports
Over the recent weekend, the Carabinieri of the Cesena Company carried out an extraordinary service of territorial control, carried out primarily in the evening and night time slots, in order to prevent the commission of crimes and combat the consumption of narcotic substances and driving under the influence of mind-altering substances.
The checks, carried out in the areas of the territory considered to be of greatest operational interest and along the busiest roads, produced the following results:
- a man arrested as the alleged perpetrator of the crimes of "aggravated improper robbery" and "carrying of weapons or objects capable of causing offence" . The man, surprised by the owner inside his home, engaged in a fight with the latter, subsequently threatening him with a knife. Immediately after his escape, he was located by a patrol car from the Carabinieri Radiomobile Unit of Cesena;
- two foreign citizens reported for "receiving stolen goods". In the first case, a man was intercepted while riding through the city streets on an electric scooter that had been stolen two weeks earlier. In the second case, another individual was found in possession of two smartphones, also stolen the previous week. The stolen goods were returned in full to their rightful owners;
- a foreign national reported for “material forgery”, as he was caught driving a car with a false international driving permit. The vehicle was subjected to administrative seizure;
- a woman was reported for "driving without a license", because she was caught driving a rental car, despite not having a driving license. The vehicle was entrusted to a roadside assistance service. In the same circumstance, the woman and the passenger were proposed for the issuance of a mandatory expulsion order, with a ban on returning to the municipality of Cesena. The circumstantial evidence collected during the check in fact led the military to believe that they were in the area with the intent of committing fraud.
During the service, we also proceeded to:
- accompaniment to Bologna airport and the repatriation of a foreign citizen to Tunisia, recipient of an expulsion order from the national territory.
- la reporting of a minor to the competent Prefecture, found in possession of a small quantity of marijuana, seized, for personal use of narcotic substances.
The activity carried out by the Carabinieri of Cesena, aimed at contributing to the safety of citizens and respect for the law, will continue, with maximum commitment, also in the coming days, in particular in the most exposed and problematic hours, namely the evening and night hours.
