Borgo San Lorenzo: “Fiorinfiera” returns to color the town with its XIIth edition

Twelfth edition for Fiorinfiera, the Plant and Flower Market Exhibition, which returns to the place where this successful and sought-after format was born, that is, in Borgo San Lorenzo, from 11 to 13 April.

In the splendid setting of monumental gardens of Piazza Dante, the market exhibition of plants, flowers, garden tools and outdoor life which also this year, after the success of previous editions, will start on Friday morning (with the exception of the streets of the historic center, which remain dedicated to Saturday and Sunday).

The event will gather approximately 60 exhibitors of the sector that will animate the green area of ​​the gardens of Piazza Dante.

Borgo San Lorenzo It will thus transform into a truly great outdoor garden, becoming an unrepeatable attraction for lovers of floriculture, horticulture and gardening.

The gardens will also host about twenty local farms which will offer the flavours of the spring season, fresh to enjoy at your table.

“Fiorinfiera returns in April, an event that in recent years has characterised the beginning of spring in Borgo San Lorenzo – says the Mayor of Borgo San Lorenzo Municipality of Borgo San Lorenzo, Leonardo Romagnoli - enhancing the gardens of Piazza Dante with plants, flowers and colours and also involving the Historic Centre.

This year even more so because we hope it can mark a period of recovery and the end of a difficult period for our country and the entire Mugello area, marking a return to normality after everything that happened in the last period with the damage and inconveniences of bad weather.

For this I want to thank the organizers and also the traders of the Centro Commerciale Naturale who during the days of Fiorinfiera will propose numerous recreational events and promotion of our territory".

The Piazza stretch in front of the town hall, like Via Bandini, will host a colorful and lively flea market and you will be able to eat thanks to some inviting exhibitors who will offer street food.

From Saturday il historic center of Borgo San Lorenzo will then theatre of exhibitions, workshops and installations, in a sort of path that will lead to the flowerbeds of the gardens of Borgo San Lorenzo which will host plants and flowers of all kinds, from seasonal typical plants to ornamental plants, from evergreens to citrus fruits and garden and vegetable garden equipment.

In the center, Via Mazzini host “Artists in the open air” with a gathering of painters at work for two days, as well as inaugurating a very colourful installation that will act as a common thread for the spring and summer period; Corso Matteotti will instead be the seat of “ArtigianArte”, craft and agri-food products market; Piazza Cavour, on the day of Saturday April 12 will host a paper flower workshop.

Furthermore, many commercial activities in the centre and in the areas involved in the event, in addition to dedicating their shop windows to flowers and nature, will offer special services, menus or products dedicated to the floral theme, colours and perfumes.

This year the relationship with theComprehensive Institute of Borgo San Lorenzo. That in the morning of Thursday 10 will see an evocative prologue with the fourth grade classes busy with the usual appointment with “Giò Madonnari”, in the stretch of Piazza Dante in front of the Town Hall, which will be reproduced with chalk floral themed asphalt paintings. Whose sketches and photos of the event will go on to further color the shop windows of the historic center in the following days.

While Friday afternoon, around 17.15pm, the steps of Piazza Dante will do as natural stage for the kids in the wings who will cheer up those who go to the village with their songs, with a suggestive performance.

La Borgo San Lorenzo Library will be immersed in the event with the delivery, during the event, of the gifts of “Bibliogadget” to those who read more and one thematic shelf with books on the themes of flowers, plants, nature, botany and gardening, on display throughout the week of the event. Collaborations and collateral activities, much appreciated by both exhibitors and visitors from outside the region, make 'Fiorinfiera' one of the main events of the Mugello spring.

Fiorinfiera is organized by Periscopio Comunicazione with the collaboration of Officina Cu.Bo, with the patronage of the Municipality of Borgo San Lorenzo, the patronage of the Unione Montana dei Comuni del Mugello, and the collaboration of the CCN “Nel Borgo” of Borgo San Lorenzo, Confcommercio, Confesercenti, Banco Fiorentino – Mugello Impruneta Signa.

The appointment is therefore from 11 to 13 April, in the Gardens of Piazza Dante and through the streets of historic center of Borgo San Lorenzo.
