Rimini: carries out a series of robberies in pharmacies, one arrest by the State Police.

A 40-year-old Italian man originally from Campania was arrested by the Rimini State Police, in flagrante delicto, under investigation for being responsible for the robbery that took place at the municipal pharmacy no. 3 and for another robbery that took place on August 15 at the municipal pharmacy no. 5, also in Rimini.

The Flying Squad had intervened following a report of a robbery in a pharmacy on Via Flaminia, where a man wearing glasses, a hat and an armband, brandishing a knife and threatening the two pharmacists, had managed to steal around 200 euros, before immediately fleeing.

The investigators immediately began to investigate all the elements at their disposal, fully analyzing all the images from the video surveillance systems, cross-referencing the data with those acquired from the databases. The long and meticulous work done by the police had made it possible to acquire strong clues towards a man of Campania origin, already affected by numerous robberies and property crimes, who actually lived near the pharmacy.

Investigators were notified that a second robbery was in progress, with almost identical methods, at the municipal pharmacy no. 3 in Rimini.

At that point, a patrol immediately went to the pharmacy to acquire the description of the perpetrator of the crime, which proved to be perfectly compatible with that of the first event; two patrols, meanwhile, went to the man's house, tracking him down and finding him still in possession of the knife and the money from the latest crime.

The man, already burdened by specific precedents, had used numerous precautions to avoid recognition by the State Police. First of all, he covered an obvious tattoo on his wrist simulating an injury bandage; furthermore, while returning home after committing the robberies, he had changed his clothes, hidden inside a backpack specially hidden away from the robbery site, throwing the clothes used for the crime.

Despite his attempts to make himself unrecognizable, even by shaving his face immediately after the first robbery, the Flying Squad managed, with a rapid investigation, to identify him and, following the ritual actions at the police station, to send him to prison in a state of arrested for the crime of aggravated robbery and placed at the disposal of the prosecuting Judicial Authority.
