Work is coming to block the movements of the landslide and for a system of drainage wells. A third phase of interventions is planned for the definitive security of the country.
A new step forward is coming for the consolidation of the landslide which in 2019 involved the north-west side of the town of Agna, in the Parma area. Work on the safety of the small hamlet has started again, thanks to a Pnrr loan worth 650 thousand euros. The new tranche of works follows an initial structural intervention, completed by the Region with an investment of 800 thousand euros.
The work currently underway has an expected duration of approximately five months.
The planning and construction management are carried out by the technicians of the Parma territorial office of the Agency for territorial security and civil protection.
Work on the Agna landslide
The construction site aims to create a protective structure to contain further movements of the landslide affecting the town of Agna, with the aim of reducing the dangers for the population.
A system of large diameter drainage wells will be built immediately upstream of these works, with related drainage pipe.
The works were preceded by a campaign of geognostic investigations for the analysis of the instability, by the installation of monitoring instruments and by geological-geotechnical investigations preparatory to the consolidation project, with a investment of 20 thousand euros.
