Man arrested in Vittoria for possession and receiving of weapons and ammunition

The soldiers of the Operative and Radiomobile Nucleus of the Vittoria Carabinieri Company, during the execution of a targeted service aimed at combating weapons crimes, they noted a suspicious farmhouse in a district on the outskirts of the city of Ipparina. After having set up camp, the Carabinieri have shortly after, a man was noticed arriving, later identified as FG, a forty-five year old from Vittoria, who was entering the street.

The military immediately took him identified and checked to then extend the investigations to the farmhouse where he lived; the police activity initially allowed them to discover theunlawful possession of a gun, fully functional, with charger inserted and hidden under the mattress ready for use, as well as other bullets of the same caliber hidden in various parts of the house. During the checks, they were also rifle cartridges found and this made the officers suspect that other weapons could be hidden, therefore, once the activities in the house were completed, they extended the investigations to a room in the appurtenances of the farmhouse, managing to discover the presence of 2 rifles carefully hidden among the tools and other shotgun shells.

From the investigative findings that emerged, the Carabinieri accompanied FG to their offices to identify him fully and then carry out further investigations into the weapons that were found to be stolen in several episodes dating back to 2009 and 2010. So, The Carabinieri proceeded to arrest FG in flagrante delicto for the illicit possession and receiving of weapons and ammunition, subjecting everything to seizure. Once the ritual acts have been completed, the man was then taken to his home under house arrest pending the determination of the competent Judicial Authority.
