Scicli: Kicks and punches towards the two soldiers, 23-year-old arrested

The soldiers of the Donnalucata Station, during the traditional service carried out in order to prevent the commission of crimes on the territory, they arrested a 23-year-old from Ragusa, but actually domiciled in the municipality of Scicli, for the crimes of violence and resistance to a public official and possession with intent to deal in a narcotic substance of the hashish type.

The young man was returning home with a particularly cautious attitude and such carelessness that he left the doors of his car open. Reason why, when passing through that area, the military became suspicious and thought it appropriate to proceed with a thorough check.

At the sight of the patrol and following the request of the officers for identification documents, the young man, after having taken a blunt object from his car, reacted by trying to escape. Only thanks to the prompt reaction of the military, was reached and blocked. The 23-year-old's response came in the form of a violent assault, as he began to hit the officers with kicks and punches. The fight lasted several minutes, until the two soldiers, who suffered injuries to their hand and shoulder that were judged to heal in 20 and 7 days, were forced to handcuff him to limit his unjustified response to the check.

Once the violence was stopped, the crew of the Aliquota Radiomobile arrived on site and provided the necessary support to their colleagues in carrying out the necessary search of the boy. Therefore, following the judicial police activity carried out, a professional sports slingshot was found on his person, while inside his home a quantity of 80 grams of hashish.

During the execution of the ritual formalities, the 23-year-old calmed down, having become aware of the insane act committed against the two carabinieri who intervened, therefore it was not necessary to order further containment measures against him, possibly also necessary to guarantee his safety. The Public Prosecutor's Office of Ragusa was informed, the young man was arrested for violating the drug laws, given the large quantity of hashish in his possession, and for the crimes of resisting and assaulting a public official; Furthermore, he was taken to his home to follow up on the house arrest measure, as ordered by the Judicial Authority.

The ability to fit into a certain social context and the awareness of the need to shape one's interventions according to individual cases, meant that the operators acted with the appropriate criteria, fully respecting what was foreseen by the foreseen operational intervention techniques.
