Ragusa: public safety intervention by Local Police officers.
The newly hired personnel of the Local Police command tracked down and stopped two people of foreign nationality, who were found during checks to be illegal in the territory.
The officers intervened after a motorcycle with two people on board had been reported on the Andrea Doria seafront, travelling at high speed, posing a serious danger to public safety.
The patrol, based on the description provided, tracked down the two on board the motorcycle and proceeded to identify them, who were found to be of foreign nationality and illegal in the territory.
Furthermore, the driver, questioned regarding the ownership of the motorcycle, reported having purchased it from a man of Tunisian origin in Comiso for the sum of 300 Euros, a statement that did not convince the Local Police officers who, having carried out the relevant checks, ascertained that the vehicle on which the two subjects were travelling was stolen.
With the collaboration of the State Police, the Local Police officers took the two foreigners to the Ragusa Police Headquarters where the photo-signal surveys and further actions within the jurisdiction of the PS were carried out.
The two were subsequently transferred to the Local Police Headquarters in via Mario Spadola for further proceedings, at the end of which the two individuals were reported to the competent Judicial Authority for the crimes of receiving stolen goods and false certification of personal identity to a public official.
