The Carabinieri of Pozzallo carried out, on Wednesday evening, aprecautionary custody order in prison against a 47enne, domiciled in Ragusa and already known to the policeThe man is seriously suspected of the crime of persecution towards his former partner.

According to the investigations, the 47-year-old, in the grip of states of psychophysical alteration due todrug use, has demonstrated a obsessive jealousy, which resulted in beatings and threats. The persecutions forced the victim to live in fear, changing their habits to avoid encounters with humans.

In addition to the woman, the 47-year-old also stalked another man, who believed be the new companion of the victim. The threats were sent via instant messaging and accompanied by acts of vandalism, including the damage to his home and of the machine, with the breakdown of the windscreen , tire puncture.

After 2 months of persecution, the GIP of the Court of Ragusa deemed it necessary to apply the pre-trial detention in prison for man, in order to protect the victims.
