Comiso: steals a cell phone from a van. Thief tracked down by the Carabinieri.

The Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Ragusa continues its activity to combat crimes against property.

In particular, on the day of the 8th, staff of the Comiso Carabinieri station collected a report of theft from a van where the thief took possession of the driver's smartphone and then disappeared.

The Carabinieri initiated immediate investigation activities, also through the acquisition of images from the surveillance cameras at the crime scene and surrounding streets, managing to identify the perpetrator of the theft.

On the morning of the 9th, the military managed to track him down in the municipality of Comiso and, after identifying him as GH, a Tunisian of class 98, they carried out investigations on his person, managing to find the stolen cellular device and an illegally possessed switchblade.

Once the operations were completed, the military took GH to their offices for the identification procedures, which ended with him handed over in a state of freedom to the Judicial Authority for the crimes of aggravated theft and illicit possession of a knife.
The mobile device, however, after being recognized by the driver of the van, was returned by the Carabinieri to its rightful owner.
