Stalker arrested in Cremona: He continued to stalk his ex-partner despite his conviction

It has been performed, from the State Police of Cremona, an order implementing the precautionary custody in prison against a person under investigation for the crimes of stalking and dissemination of sexually explicit material, both committed against his ex-partner. The man, in July 2024, after a period spent in pre-trial detention in prison, as he was under investigation - and subsequently charged - for the same types of crime against the same injured party, he was sentenced to two years in prison, with the benefit of conditional suspension of the sentence.

However, just a few hours after this conviction, the same man began to engage in persecutory and obsessive behavior towards the woman again. In particular, man immediately after his release from prison, he began to contact the girl again, insistently and daily, threatening and insulting her, and to send dozens of friend requests to his ex-girlfriend's closest friends and relatives, using various Instagram profiles "attributable" to her.

Finally, he went as far as publishing, through the aforementioned profiles, photographs and videos that portrayed the offended person naked or in intimate and sexually explicit positions, often accompanied by seriously denigrating phrases. Despite continued attempts to block contacts from every social network and every telephone number, the person under investigation continued to create false profiles and new accounts, through which he continued to undauntedly perpetrate such criminal conduct, generating a serious state of anxiety and dejection in the offended person, psychologically destroying him.

The woman, therefore, promptly and again turned to the State Police, formalising a complaint. in the offices of the Flying Squad, where she expressed her fears to the specialized operators of the section that deals with crimes against the person and gender violence. The investigators, who remained in daily contact with the victim, acquired all the elements useful for the investigation and then forwarded the information to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Cremona.

The complex and detailed investigation activity, directed by the Public Prosecutor's Office, has allowed us to highlight serious evidentiary results, in light of which the Preliminary Investigations Judge of Cremona has ordered the application of preventive detention in prison. Apparently without a known address, the person under investigation she was tracked down by the Cremona Flying Squad operators after days of searches, with the invaluable collaboration of the Bergamo Flying Squad, in an apartment in the centre of Bergamo and, subsequently, she was transferred to the local prison.

The provision in question was issued on the basis of the evidence currently acquired; therefore, pending the finality of the judgment. The State Police's attention on crimes related to gender violence is maximum, both in the administrative sphere, with the issuing of preventive measures of the Warning of the Police Commissioner, and in the investigative sphere.
