Cremona, violence against women. Carabinieri meetings throughout Casalasco
In the last months, The Carabinieri have intensified their awareness-raising activities in the area, organizing a series of meetings in high schools and middle schools in Casalmaggiore and the surrounding municipalities. The appointments, conducted by the Commander of the Casalmaggiore Company and by the Station Commanders operating in the territory, They aimed to educate young people to respect the rules, underlining the value of legality as the foundation of a civil society.
Among the topics covered, particular attention was given to the prevention of bullying and cyberbullying, with insights into the risks associated with the improper use of social media, the fight against organized crime, illustrating the social and economic consequences of illegal activities, and the fight against gender violence, raising awareness among boys and girls on the importance of mutual respect and recognizing signs of abuse.
These meetings were well attended, with the enthusiasm of the students who were curious and attentive, asking questions and interacting with the speakers. On the topic of gender violence, commercials were shown to encourage victims to report what they are suffering: a commercial with the participation of the famous TV presenter Carlo Conti and a video message by personnel of the Carabinieri, who invite women to "take the first step", highlighting the existence, in support of victims, of legal measures, as well as psychological, work and economic support.
Furthermore, at a local level, in several municipalities, public conferences on the topic of gender violence have been organized, involving not only professionals, but also families, teachers and citizens.
During these meetings, the various initiatives of the Carabinieri were illustrated, including the establishment of a “National monitoring network on the phenomenon of gender violence” that the Carabinieri have been equipped with since 2014, made up of judicial police officers with certified training in the specific sector, and the collaboration between the Carabinieri and Soroptimist International of Italy, highlighting innovative projects such as the Mobile Angel and “A Room of One's Own”, the latter dedicated to welcoming victims of violence.
These meetings had the dual objective of informing and raising awareness, countering the silence and sense of impotence that often surround these situations. And citizens' trust in institutions was strengthened thanks to the constant presence and effectiveness of interventions, demonstrating that legality is not just an ideal, but a concrete reality that is built day after day.
In parallel with the meetings, the Arma della Compagnia di Casalmaggiore has intensified its operational commitment in the fight against gender violence, a problem unfortunately also felt in the Casalmaggiore area.
The results were not long in coming. Over the last year, the Carabinieri of Casalasco have proceeded with 34 reports at liberty and 3 arrests in flagrante delicto for episodes of domestic violence and stalking, with the application of 10 orders of removal from the family home and prohibitions of approach, 6 of which with an electronic bracelet in order to monitor and prevent violations.
These numbers testify to the firmness with which the Casalmaggiore Company, according to the directives of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Cremona, faces every case of violence, operating rapidly to protect the victims and bring those responsible to justice. The commitment of the Carabinieri has not been limited to repressive aspects, but has extended to a wide-ranging social contribution.
Thanks to the collaboration with local institutions, local associations and social services, support paths have been activated for women victims of violence, which include access to dedicated listening desks, legal support for managing complaints and psychological support to promote the recovery of serenity and autonomy..
