Casalmaggiore: 8000 euro scam, three people reported

The Carabinieri of the Casalmaggiore Station reported two men aged 64 and 29, residents in the province of Padua and Milano, with a criminal record, and a 48-year-old woman, resident in the province of Genoa, held responsible for a scam carried out via the web.

At the end of last December, a local man went to the Carabinieri in Casalmaggiore where he reported having been scammed by a person who had asked for his professional collaboration consisting of carrying out some tasks that required him to pay sums of money. These sums would then be returned in full, with the addition of a commission as a reward for the collaboration provided.

Believing the proposal to be true, he made payments through a platform operating exclusively on the Internet, without ever having contact with any physical persons. The victim made several transfers, as requested by the scammers, for a total sum of approximately 8.00 euros. But when he began to ask for part of the money he had paid back, each of his requests was promptly ignored with various excuses.

At that point, realizing that something was wrong, he did a search of the website he thought he was collaborating with, discovering that some people had reported the site because it was used to commit scams. So, he filed a complaint with the Carabinieri for the scam he suffered.

The Carabinieri of Casalmaggiore have started the investigations, verifying who were the holders of the IBANs on which the sums paid by the victim had been credited, ascertaining that they were two men and a woman, who have been reported to the Judicial Authority.
