Cremona: Expulsions and repatriations, intensified efforts to combat illegal immigration.

La Cremona State Police continues theincessant activity to combat illegal immigration, carried out in particular by the staff of the 3rd Section of the Immigration Office, responsible for adopting expulsion procedures of both an administrative and judicial nature.

A check was carried out in the Cremona area citizen from Georgia: the investigations revealed that the man had first entered Germany and then Italy, in violation of current legislation and resulting in a condition of irregularity.

The man, expelled by the Prefect of Cremona, was accompanied by order of the Police Chief of Cremona to the Bergamo – Orio al Serio air border and boarded a repatriation flight to Tbilisi (Georgia).

Furthermore, a citizen of Ivory Coast, recipient of decree rejecting the renewal of the residence permit for legal reasons, it was released from Cremona Prison after serving his sentenceThe man had served 3 years and 2 months' imprisonment for domestic abuse, personal injury and aggravated sexual assault to the detriment of his wife.

After the investigation, his irregular status was ascertained, he was expelled by the Prefect of Cremona and the Police Commissioner has ordered his detention at the Bari-Palese Repatriation Detention Center, waiting for a valid document for final repatriation. Overall, since the beginning of 2025, theImmigration office performed:

  • 26 repatriations with immediate escort to the border,

  • 28 detentions in repatriation holding centers,

  • 47 orders to leave the national territory within 7 days.
