Cremona: Gang of ATM and business robbers busted, six arrested.

A complex and articulated operation of the Carabinieri of Cremona led toarrest of six men, belonging to a gang specialized in ATM robberies and thefts from companies and logistics facilitiesThe surgery was performed at dawn Thursday November 6, at the disposal of Public Prosecutor's Office of Cremona, who coordinated the investigations of the Investigative Unit of the Operations Department.

The military, supported by the Provincial Commands of Foggia, Pescara and Mantua, from the Companies of Cremona and Casalmaggiore and by anti-explosive canine units of Orio al Serio and Modugno, have carried out aprecautionary custody order in prison issued by the Court of Cremona against six individuals, aged between And 40 61 years, all prejudiced or with criminal recordTwo lived in the Cremona area, but were originally from Foggia, while four were residents of the province of Foggia. A seventh member of the group is still refined.

Contextually, they were four search warrants executed against the same number of suspects. The people involved are considered responsible for criminal association aimed at commission of predatory crimes, in particular ATM attacks with explosives e thefts in companies. Two of them were also investigated for attempted aggravated robbery, stolen, damage e possession of explosives, in relation to the assault on the ATM of the Cassa Padana di Cella Dati (CR), which occurred on the night of February 1, 2025.

The assault, carried out with two homemade devices called "marmots", had not been successful thanks to the resistance of the ATM, which contained more than 27.000 €. However, the explosions had caused serious damage to the branch and forced the gang to flee.

Le investigations by the Carabinieri, started after the attempted theft, allowed to identify the cars used, including a stolen Alfa Romeo, and to ascertain that a second vehicle, used as a "relay", belonged to a person connected to the suspects. Through shadowing, wiretapping and analysis of telephone records, the military reconstructed the criminal network, discovering an organized structure specific roles e paramilitary methods.

The band had at its disposal telephone lines registered to nominees, two-way radios, and garages and sheds used as logistical bases to hide stolen cars and explosives. Some members had even purchased a fictitiously registered truck to transport the loot from the attacks. Extremely cautious, the members they destroyed phones and SIM cards after each operation and met only in person, in places considered safe.

Investigations have also linked the gang to two more episodes: A Attempted theft from an ATM at a nursing home in the province of Verona and Theft of a bank safe in San Marino, containing 45.000 €, which occurred last May.

During the searches, the Carabinieri have seized cell phones, SIM cards, two-way radios, two jammers, a circular saw, a homemade "marmot" e burglary toolsTwo of those arrested were stopped in province of Pescara as they moved, thanks to the timely intervention of the patrols of the local Commands.

The six men were taken to the prisons in Cremona, Foggia, and Pescara, while the seventh is still abscondingThe investigation, still in the preliminary phase, will continue to ascertain the individual responsibilities and the possible involvement of other accomplices.
