Crema: They steal two vans and flee, one of the four suspects arrested
The Carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Nucleus of the Crema Company they arrested a 32-year-old man, of no fixed abode and with a criminal record, because he was considered responsible for receiving stolen goods. However, three other accomplices managed to escape.
The Carabinieri of the Crema Company They organized a service in civilian clothes to combat thefts from companies operating in the cosmetics sector, which had already been hit by thieves in the past. The service was supported by some Radiomobile patrols ready to intervene and stop any suspicious people.
A patrol in civilian clothes he came across two suspicious vans that, at high speed, had managed to escape the control of the military. But the check on the license plates made it possible to ascertain that one vehicle was stolen in the province of Monza, while the license plate of the second corresponded to a car and not a van. At that point, the entire service was oriented to search for the two vehicles in that area, believing that they could hit a company in the area.
The service lasted all night and into the next morning, the two vehicles were intercepted from an unmarked Carabinieri car in Sergnano, on the SP 591, in the direction of Mozzanica (BG). They were stalked by the various crews that, from time to time, joined the observation service while waiting to be able to stop them safely. The vehicles arrived in Bariano (BG) and quickly took the Bre.Be.Mi.
The drivers of the stolen vehicles probably realized they were being followed and began to carry out diversionary maneuvers in order to understand who was following them. In the meantime, they reached the A4 motorway and, having reached the Agrate Brianza motorway barrier, while they were paying the toll, the Crema military swung into action and blocked the two vans with the service cars so that they could not move. The four occupants of the two vehicles immediately opened the doors and fled towards the surrounding agricultural fields, aided by the darkness and vegetation.
One of them, the 32-year-old, was reached, blocked and identified, while the other three managed to escape. The two vans were searched and it was found that the one stolen in the province of Monza contained oxygen concentrators for hospital use, material that had been in the vehicle since the time of the theft, and that the license plate of the second vehicle had been altered with black adhesive tape, resulting in it being stolen in the province of Milano a week before.
The two vans were recovered in order to carry out all the necessary surveys and technical checks to understand who was present that night on the two vehicles and, at the end of the technical activities, they were returned to their owners. But some balaclavas and gloves were seized, useful for identifying the accomplices of the arrested man.
The 32-year-old was arrested on suspicion of receiving stolen goods and was taken to the prison in Monza. The arrest was validated and the measure of precautionary custody in prison.
