Crema: They escape at the patrol's stop and chase for 15 kilometers, arrested for resisting a public official

The Carabinieri of the Crema Radiomobile Unit have arrested two repeat offenders aged 30 and 33, believed to be responsible for resisting a public official, who escaped the stop imposed by a Radiomobile patrol and gave rise to a chase that lasted almost 15 kilometres.

The Crema Radiomobile patrol noticed a car with two people on board who, upon seeing the service car, observed the soldiers for a long time with a suspicious attitude: the patrol then followed the vehicle, ordering them to stop.

The driver suddenly accelerated and ran away, making risky and extremely dangerous overtaking manoeuvres., often invading the opposite lane to prevent the service vehicle from coming alongside and causing serious danger to other road users, and then carrying out a very dangerous manoeuvre taking the SP 5 and travelling in the wrong direction for approximately 415km not caring that cars were coming, forced to brake sharply to avoid the impact.

The military continued the chase, making the danger visible with the use of sirens and flashing lights of the service car, but on several occasions the fugitives risked colliding with the cars they were crossing. The two then took a closed road that led to an agricultural land: without giving up, they crossed a ditch with the car, entering the agricultural land where, after a few dozen meters, the vehicle got stuck in the mud. The two men got out of the vehicle and ran away on foot, but were chased, caught up and stopped by the military after running a few hundred meters.

Other patrols arrived on the scene and the two and their car were searched without finding anything useful. The two men, without identity documents, were accompanied to the Crema barracks where they were identified through photo identification, and were charged with numerous crimes against property in various provinces of Northern Italy.

The car they were using, which was found to be rented, was seized, and the two men were arrested for resisting a public official for having carried out very dangerous maneuvers during their escape by car. The two were later taken to Cremona prison.

Their arrest was later validated, and they were banned from returning to the province of Cremona; the hearing was adjourned to November 18 and the two were released. The Radiomobile officers also fined the driver for driving without a license because he had never obtained one and for all the other violations of the highway code that he committed during the escape.
