Arezzo, delivery of food for the cats of the municipal shelter. Councilor Carlettini: "correct nutrition to ensure adequate health and hygiene conditions"
Arezzo, “This administration continues to characterize its mandate by a strong commitment to animal rights and welfare. From this perspective, we continue in close collaboration with Enpa, the manager of the municipal kennel, for an action to support the cat colonies, to detect their needs, the state of health and the hygienic-sanitary needs of the guests and to distribute to the cats foods in the winter”. So does the councillor Giovanna Carlettini comments on the initiative involving the municipal kennel: there, in compliance with anti-Covid regulations, the keepers of the cat colonies can collect the dry and wet food, in a quantity proportional to the total number of cats registered, which will help for the Proper nutrition of these animals in view of the colder months.
"A Christmas gift for our four-legged friends – continues the councilor. The food will also be available for the keepers of the registered colonies in the next few days. I trust I can say at the end of this third distribution, like last year, that it was a much appreciated gesture. Furthermore, we are talking about a quantity corresponding to 50.000 meals".
Sandra Capogreco di Enpa"there are 156 colonies, a truly large number which requires a daily commitment to meet the various needs. We are also very satisfied with the new hospital room where, since its inauguration in July, we have recorded 40 passages of felines, cared for before and after sterilization, as part of an efficient and precautionary path adequate to guarantee both the cats and the public hygiene".
The councilor's conclusions Carlettini with a look towards the future"if in the present we continue, also thanks to the specifically dedicated operational unit of the municipal police, the battle against mistreatment and abandonment, the project that I hope will see the light in the coming years is that of a real cemetery for pet animals".
