Matera, a month to experience Christmas.

Christmas markets, entertainment for children, music, workshops and activities for the whole family, but also solidarity projects and shows. One month to Matera, to fully experience the magic of the holidays. From 3 December to 6 January, in Piazza Vittorio Veneto.

An ancient city with an innate nativity magic and a Christmas village where next to the markets there will be space for Santa Claus' House, shows, music, street artists, taste workshops. These are the ingredients of second edition of the Matera Christmas Village, scheduled in Vittorio Veneto square from 3 December to 6 January, from 10am to midnight.

 

A whole month to live the Christmas atmosphere in the city of the Sassi, Capital of Culture 2019, increasingly a reference point for major cultural events and a popular destination for tourists from all over the world.

The free entry initiative, organized byItaly Events Association, is sponsored by Municipality of Matera and by 'ONE IS National Union of Event OrganizersIn partnership with Pro Loco Matera. Set up in eco-sustainable wood, it ensures the creation of a low-impact event. 

 

THEofficial inauguration is expected to Saturday 3 December, at 17, in the presence of mayor of Matera Dominic Bennardi,councilor for culture and the Sassi Tiziana D'Oppido, of several representatives of the municipal administration and the president of the Italia Eventi Association Giuseppe Lupo. Coloring this important moment will be the flag-wavers coming from Cava dei Tirreni and the group of street artists from Matera Caposciuc.

 

THEItaly Events Association will support, through a social contribution which will translate into shopping vouchers, the solidarity activity carried out by Parish of San Rocco thanks to parson Angelo Tataranni , Matera Women's Network. While, a further contribution will be allocated to the maintenance of one green space in the city center.
