In recent days, the military of the Castiglione di Sicilia and Bronte stations, supported by the Palermo Operational Intervention Teams and from the "gazelles" of the Randazzo Mobile Radio Unit, have given birth to a complex extraordinary territorial control service which has produced concrete results: Reports of weapons, drug seizures, and fines of over €10.000.
Controls on weapons and drugs
In Castiglione di Sicilia, a 49-year-old originally from Bronte and an young local man have been reported - on the basis of the evidence collected, to be verified in court and in compliance with the presumption of innocence - for unjustified possession of instruments capable of causing harmInside the glove compartment of the young man's car, the Carabinieri found a folding knife with wooden handle.
The same Castiglionese was found in possession of a joint and two wraps of marijuana, while in Bronte a 30 year old foreigner he was caught with small amounts of drugs and was reported to the Prefecture of Catania as a user.
Road checks
In Castiglione, a young man was stopped with a blood alcohol level higher than 1,61 g/l: for him it was time criminal complaint, confiscation of the vehicle and immediate withdrawal of the driving licence.
In Bronte, the Carabinieri stopped a 34enne foreigner driving a high-powered car without ever having obtained a driving licenceHe and the owner of the vehicle were given fines. 6 fines, for a total of over € 7.400, with contextual confiscation of the vehicle e administrative detention for 3 months.
Always on the roads of the district, a citizen of Maniace he was found driving a vehicle already burdened by 10 arrest warrants: for him one fine of almost €2.000. There are also numerous Fines for driving without a seatbelt or with a cell phone in your hand.
