Ramacca: Receiving stolen goods and resisting a public official, two 44-year-olds arrested
As part of the preventive services aimed at combating crime, with the aim of increasing the sense of real and perceived security according to the guidelines of the Provincial Carabinieri Command of Catania, the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Unit of the Palagonia Company They arrested two 44 year old criminals, respectively originally from Palagonia and Adrano. Both are held responsible for the crime of receiving stolen goods, while the individual from Adrano is also accused of resisting a public official.
The Carabinieri, engaged in a patrol service in the territory of Municipality of Ramacca, they noticed suspicious behavior by the driver of a Fiat Uno, who was heading towards Caltagirone near a roundabout. The man, in fact, in the company of a passenger, at the sight of the “gazelle” he made two turns around the roundabout, then reversed his direction towards Paternò, accelerating the engine to maximum.
At this point, the reaction of the military was obvious: they immediately activated the sirens and flashing lights, chasing the suspicious car with the aim of checking it. The car, of course, she was stopped with the two fugitives only after a few hundred meters.
Thanks to the synergy with the Palagonia Operations Centre, which immediately proceeded to carry out checks on both the subjects and the car, the military learned not only that the two men had numerous criminal records for property crimes, but also that the Fiat Uno had been stolen the previous day in Santa Maria di Licodia (CT).
In fact, investigators have found that the ignition lock of the vehicle was forced, presumably by using a lock pick. The two 44-year-olds were therefore arrested and placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority which validated their arrest, while the vehicle was returned to its owner who, happy to have regained what he thought was lost forever, thanked the Carabinieri.
