NAS Catania: Cockroaches in Food Production Lab, Bar Seized

As part of targeted services aimed at ensure food safety, the NAS of Catania has submitted to administrative seizure of an entire bar because of the serious health and hygiene deficiencies found.

In particular, in the gastronomy and pastry production laboratory it was noted the presence of cockroaches who probably entered the premises because the openings were not equipped with protective netting.

It was also found in the premises widespread dirt, in particular rust and grease caked on the scutching and equipment used for food processing.

In addition to the seizure of the business, the owner was charged resolution of the irregularities detected is prescribed including the disinfestation and sanitization of environments.
