Mascalucia: Carabinieri rescue a 70-year-old woman stuck in her car during the storm

The Carabinieri, constantly present on the territory to prevent and repress crimes, It also represents a point of reference for the population, guaranteeing support and assistance in times of emergency or difficulty. And it is precisely in this last context that the Carabinieri of the Mascalucia branch provided their support on the occasion of an intervention to rescue a 70-year-old local woman, who was stuck in her car during the violent storm that hit the entire province of Catania.

The Lady, in particular, while he was trying to reach his home driving his vehicle, she suddenly found herself in difficulty due to a completely flooded road. His car, in fact, got stuck and was unable to move, while the water level continued to rise. In a panic, then, the woman managed to contact the Carabinieri Operations Centre, which immediately sent a patrol to the site, already engaged in the area to support people during the heavy downpour who, in a very short time, reached the lady in danger.

The crew, despite the prohibitive conditions, immediately assessed the situation and, after reassuring the 70-year-old and checking her health conditions, he approached the blocked car with the utmost caution, helping the driver to get out of the vehicle and then taking her to a safe place. The lady, visibly shaken but fortunately unharmed, thanks also to the timely intervention, expressed her gratitude to the Carabinieri for their help and the support provided in that time of dire need.
