Grammichele, Catania: arrested by the Carabinieri for damage and resisting a public official.

It was a “busy evening” that of a 37 year old from Grammichele, arrested red-handed by the Carabinieri of the local station for damage and resisting a public official.

The events took place in the evening when around 21.00 pm, via 112 NUE, the headquarters of the Carabinieri Company of Caltagirone received some reports from citizens, who warned the operator of the presence in the street of a man who was screaming frantically, threatening to set fire to his partner's car, a white Fiat Punto.

The patrol of soldiers from the Station immediately reached the indicated location, actually finding the scene described to them because, a man, evidently in a state of strong agitation, was inveighing against his 39-year-old partner who, instead, was stunned at the window of their home.

The arrival of the military did not calm the man's agitation, who he hit the woman's car with several punches, breaking the left rear window. Subsequently, he also turned his anger towards the Carabinieri, insulting and verbally threatening them.

The immediate arrival of reinforcements, requested by the patrolling soldiers present, in fact, calmed the 37-year-old who, naturally, at the sight of the Carabinieri in superior numbers, decided to abandon his aggressive attitude.

Despite this, the man, even after being placed in safety by the Carabinieri, began to show signs of agitation again during the entire journey to the Grammichele barracks. Once he arrived, however, he was visited by the 118 health workers, called by the military to assess his state of alteration and bring him back to calm.

The man has been associated with the Caltagirone prison at the disposal of the Judicial Authority which, then, has the arrest was validated issuing a precautionary measure against him, following which he remains in prison.
