Fiumefreddo di Sicilia (Catania), breaks down the front door and kicks the door of his girlfriend's house because she refuses to stay on the phone. Arrested by the Carabinieri

Last night, a gazelle of the Giarre Radiomobile Section intervened at the home of a 37-year-old, resident in Fiumefreddo, who had just been attacked by her boyfriend, the man, a 34 year old local, was arrested, on the basis of the evidence gathered to be verified in court, for “mistreatment against family members” and "personal injury".

In this regard, it was around 02:00 when the Operations Centre of the Carabinieri Company of Giarre received a call to the emergency number 112, from a condominium resident who, worried about the screams coming from his neighbor's house, decided to ask the Carabinieri for help.

The alert allowed the patrol, activated by the Central operators, to reach the victim's apartment in a matter of minutes, located in a peripheral area of ​​the town, and to identify the woman's partner who, already on the road, was about to ride away on a bicycle.

The military immediately stopped him, asking him what he was doing out and about at that hour. He, however, candidly admitted to the investigators that he had just finished arguing with his girlfriend, trying to downplay the incident, but his version of events did not convince the crew who, after securing him, immediately wanted to hear the woman's version.

The young victim, visibly shaken, burst into tears of relief as soon as she saw the Carabinieri, telling them that that evening, while she was returning home from work, her boyfriend insisted that she remain on the phone with him all the time, until they arrived at his apartment, so that he could be sure that she would not meet anyone.

This attitude, clearly possessive and domineering, however, was not tolerated by the girl who, thus, decided to interrupt the conversation, to go home calmly, without any constraints whatsoever.

However, her jealous boyfriend, in order to "punish" her for not having consented to his wishes, waited until it was late at night, then he reached her home where, with kicks and punches, he broke the gate of the building and then vented his anger also against the entrance door of her home.

The woman, at that point, convinced that she could calm him down and also to make him stop making that commotion which, obviously, also woke up the neighbors, opened the door, being attacked at that moment by her boyfriend who, after having insulted her, grabbed her by the arm, pulling her. Only with the help of a neighbor did the 34-year-old “let go”.

Heartened and reassured by the presence of the military, the victim then went to the barracks to report him, saying that her relationship with the man began about a year earlier and that in this short period they had distanced themselves and reconnected several times precisely because of his jealousy and violent nature. However, with each reunion, the man was increasingly resentful and suspicious and, fearing that she might be seeing other people, he became increasingly aggressive.

After collecting the statements of the woman and also those of the witnesses who, over the months, had repeatedly witnessed their arguments, the man was arrested and, by order of the Judicial Authority, subjected to the precautionary measure of house arrest.
