Catania: escapes house arrest and pretends to be his brother, arrested by the Carabinieri

The action of prevention and contrast to widespread illegality, further strengthened by the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Catania, has led the Carabinieri of the Catania Radiomobile Unit to arrest a 39 year old of the place for escape from house arrest.

In this regard, it was around 16:30 pm, when a gazelle that was running along the Cape Passero Street, spotted the man walking along the road, stopping to talk to some locals. At the sight of the crew, however, the The 39-year-old suddenly lowered his gaze, as if he wanted to hide, and this attitude aroused the suspicion of the Carabinieri who, therefore, decided to stop him for a check.

The Carabinieri deemed it appropriate to investigate the situation further and took him to the barracks, where, thanks to the use of the biometric identification system for the detection and fingerprint comparison with those present in the official databases, it was possible to ascertain his real identity.

The man was found to be the subject subjected to the house arrest for previous drug dealing activities, a condition that would have categorically prohibited him from leaving his home.

The 39-year-old was therefore arrested and placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority which validated his arrest, and this time he ended up in prison in Piazza Lanza.
