The Carabinieri carried out a raid on the home of a woman living in the San Cristoforo district. The woman tried to dissuade them from searching her house by claiming that she was five months pregnant. The Carabinieri, checking her state of health, subsequently searched the apartment and found 250 grams of cocaine. The drugs she was hiding would have fetched around 20 thousand euros on the illegal market.

As part of the strengthening of patrol services across the entire Etna capital, also aimed at the prevention and repression of drug-related crimes, which constitute safe source of income for organized crime, the Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit of Catania have dealt another hard blow to the phenomenon of drug trafficking, with the report of a 33-year-old from Catania, with no criminal record, for "detention for the purpose of drug dealing".
In particular, following a complex info-investigative activity, the Carabinieri of the Carabinieri gathered elements that led them to believe that the woman could hide drugs in her home, located in the San Cristoforo district.
Having clarified the circumstantial framework, the military they organized the blitz, to surprise her inside the house, but when they entered the house, woman tried to make them stop searching the rooms, telling them she was in the fifth month of pregnancy. The girl's nervous attitude, however, supported the investigative hypothesis of the Carabinieri who, after having ensured his good health, have began to search the apartment and found himself, on the kitchen table, a plastic bag containing six packages of cocaine, weighing approximately 250 grams.
The drug, which would have brought in around €20.000 on the illegal market, was subjected to seizure, while the 33 year old was reported to the Judicial Authority.
