Bronte: Extraordinary Control Operation by the Carabinieri for the Security of the Territory.

The extraordinary control action of the territory by the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Catania continues, who, through coordinated services on a provincial scale, implement a widespread control of the urban and peripheral areas for ensure safety, crime prevention and compliance with the law.

The demonstration, in the afternoon, involved Bronte, where the military of the local station, with the support of the Operational Intervention Company of the XII Regiment "Sicilia”, they conducted a detailed service of wide-ranging control within the operational plan called “Trinacria Model”, achieving significant results on a preventive and repressive level.

In detail, they were 31 vehicles were checked and 38 people were identified, including subjects subjected to restrictive measures such as house arrest. Particular attention was also paid to the public establishments, with an inspection dedicated to the topic of safety in the workplace and compliance with food safety regulations.

The patrols deployed on the territory also carried out investigations and searches on subjects considered to be of "operational interest" and, in this sense, a 19-year-old youth, resident in Bronte, was reported to the Administrative Authority for possession of a narcotic substance for personal use. The boy, in fact, who was driving a small car, at the sight of the Carabinieri attempted to reverse to avoid a possible check; this risky and dangerous manoeuvre earned him a check and a search, which allowed him to find some doses of marijuana hidden in the dashboard. In addition to the reporting and seizure of the drugs, the Carabinieri also ordered the withdrawal of the driving license.

In the road sector, they have been raised two fines for violations of the Highway Code: one for thecell phone use while driving, which resulted in the withdrawal of the driving licence and the deduction of 5 points, and another for failure to have the vehicle periodically inspected, with consequent suspension of the vehicle from circulation.
