Bronte, 41-year-old man barricades himself in his home and uses his mother as a shield: Carabinieri arrest him.

A Bronte, in the province of Catania, Carabinieri of the local station and Mobile Radio Section of the Randazzo Company they arrested a man red-handed 41enne, already known to the police, considered responsible for violation of the expulsion orders from the family home and no approach to the places frequented by the mother.

The incident occurred late in the evening, around 22:00, when a Carabinieri patrol, returning to the barracks, heard shouts and insults coming from a nearby house.

Recognizing the man's voice, already involved in previous episodes of domestic violence, the soldiers intervened asking for support from their colleagues at the Radiomobile.

The 41-year-old had in fact already been arrested last September 2nd for Death threats and harm to the 75-year-old mother, an event that had led to the GIP of the Court of Catania to arrange a precautionary measure of removal from the family home.

Once inside the house, the Carabinieri found the woman and another of her sons, who they denied the presence of man.

Shortly after, however, the 41-year-old was discovered hidden inside a closet.

At that point the mother, in an attempt to protect him, interposed between him and the military.

The man, in a state of agitation, has pulled out a switchblade, grabbed his mother by the neck e used the woman as a human shield, threatening the Carabinieri.

During the heated intervention, the subject also committed acts of self-harm, procuring wounds to the face with the same weapon.

Thanks to the promptness of the military, one of them succeeded with a lightning-fast move to disarm him, while the others have blocked and secured the man, avoiding more serious consequences for the 75-year-old.

The 41-year-old was arrested in flagrante delicto e placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority, Which has the arrest was validated.
