Bronte: terrible hygienic-sanitary conditions for a bar warehouse: 3.500 euros in fines.

The Provincial Carabinieri Command of Catania remains highly attentive to the protection of food safety and public and private health.

In the last few days, in fact, the military personnel of the Randazzo Company, as part of the joint checks with the Carabinieri of the Anti-adulteration and Health Unit of Catania (NAS), have the owner of a commercial establishment in Bronte was fined, held responsible for some violations in the health and hygiene sector.

In this regard, during the inspection activity, the Carabinieri checked a bar located in the western outskirts of the town, owned by a 28-year-old local woman, discovering that she was using a food warehouse, non-compliant warehouse.
Specifically, inside a room adjacent to the business, the military found disused material, dusty, set aside near food products usually used for making ice cream or for filling croissants and brioches and 20 litres of oil in plastic containers not suitable for its storage.

These foods, in addition to being stored correctly, must be equipped with traceability which certifies its origin but in this case, the young owner of the business he had no purchase invoice of the goods which, moreover, had not been stored according to adequate health and hygiene standards.

Following the inspection, the food products were seized and two fines were issued against the owner of the premises. administrative penalties monetary of the total amount of 3.500 euro.
