Acireale: drug dealer caught in parking lot, pusher arrested by Carabinieri.
The fight against drug trafficking led to the arrest of a 46-year-old local drug dealer who was caught selling crack.
As part of the strengthening of territorial control services, arranged by the Provincial Command of Catania on the entire Etna capital, also aimed at preventing and repressing drug-related crimes, the Carabinieri of the Acireale Station proceeded with a check in a parking lot, motivated by the deep knowledge of the social and criminal fabric of the area, which resulted in the arrest for "possession for the purpose of dealing in narcotics" of a 46-year-old local man, already burdened by specific criminal records.
In particular, it was around 17:00 pm when the patrol that was driving along Viale Cristoforo Colombo spotted the man on board a small car, recognizing him immediately as he had already been arrested for drug dealing-related crimes.
The Carabinieri therefore decided not to lose sight of him and began to follow him, keeping their distance, until they saw him enter a parking lot located in the Balatelle hamlet.
Here, the 46-year-old parked next to another car, from which a boy got out and handed him a €20 note.
Having taken the money, the pusher then rummaged through the glove compartment, taking out a small bag that he gave to the young buyer. At that point, the dynamics of the events were all too clear and the Carabinieri therefore intervened, stopping the pusher and the customer and seizing the drug, a dose of crack. After searching the dealer, the investigators recovered from his pockets a good €400 in small denomination banknotes that, together with the drugs, were seized because they were likely proceeds from other drug sales.
The repeat offender was arrested and placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority, which validated his arrest.
