Attempted theft at a light cannabis distributor: 49-year-old reported by the Carabinieri.

As part of the activities arranged by the Provincial Command of the Arma for the maintenance of public safety and the related strengthening of territorial control, the Carabinieri of the Mangano and Aci Catena Guard Stations have a 49 year old reported catenoto, held responsible for attempted theft, without prejudice to the presumption of innocence which is valid now and until a final conviction.

In fact, during the night, through the report to 112 NUE by some motorists in transit, the operator of the operations centre of the Acireale Company was informed that a man, later identified as the 49 year old, was attempting to force a vending machine for products derived from “cannabis light”, located inside the area of ​​a petrol station, located near Nicetti Street.

The operational input was thus given to the patrol of the Guardia Mangano Station who, immediately arriving on site, actually found the man who, with a “crowbar” in hand, was intent on breaking open the vending machine.

Immediately stopped by the Carabinieri and secured, the burglar candidly admitted that he had an uncontrollable desire to smoke marijuana derivatives but, not having the money to buy them, he thought of stealing them from the distributor.

The subsequent investigations carried out by the Carabinieri of the Aci Catena Station, in particular the acquisition of the footage from the video surveillance system of the petrol station, they confirmed the dynamics of the attempted theft, thwarted at the last minute by the timely arrival of their colleagues, therefore, on the basis of the evidence collected to be verified in court, the 49-year-old was reported.
