Aci Catena: he persecutes his ex-wife even in front of the Carabinieri, arrested

The Carabinieri, always attentive to the phenomenon of gender violence and aware of the importance of timely interventions to ensure the safety of the victims, makes use of a national monitoring network dedicated to these delicate phenomena. Thanks to this network, specific operational directives have been given aimed at ensuring rapid and decisive interventions in case of crimes such as stalking or gender-based abuse.

It is precisely in this context that the Carabinieri of the Aci Catena Station have a 37-year-old was arrested red-handed of the accused place, on the basis of elements collected to be verified in court, of stalking of the ex-wife.

A few evenings ago, a 33-year-old woman resident in Aci Catena went to the Command Station of that center for report new threats received from ex-husband further adding details to a previous complaint.

The woman, clearly worried, told the soldiers that the man he had contacted her using his minor daughter's cell phone, who, after receiving a phone call from her father, had passed it to him, frightened by the man's threatening tone.

The little girl, frightened by her father's screams and scoldings, immediately handed her his cell phone, and the 37-year-old, realizing that he was actually talking to his ex-wife, doubled down by threatening to kill her, stating: “You can call the Carabinieri, you see I'm coming where you are now... call the Carabinieri, hurry up I'll get there before them!”. Not content, the ex-husband subsequently sent a further threatening message, saying: “Punishment for everyone today!".

After having collected the complaint, the Carabinieri, understanding the lady's fear and careful to ensure their safety, they decided to escort her by car to her home to protect her along the way. During the journey, however, the ex-husband was seen stopped in his car at an intersection, right along the route from the barracks to the woman's house.

At the sight of the patrol, however, he moved away but, shortly after, returned on board his car with clear intimidating intentions, passing a few meters away from his ex-wife as she was entering the front door. Scared, the victim immediately alerted the Carabinieri, who decided not to move too far from that area and therefore to carry out dynamic surveillance.

In fact, the 37-year-old returned to pass in front of that house again, stopping despite the clearly visible presence of the military.

At that point, the investigators immediately intervened and, taking into account the previous complaint and the man's persecutory behavior, they stopped him, secured him and then arrested.

The Judicial Authority subsequently validated the arrest, imposing the prohibition on approaching the ex-wife within 500 meters and the application of the electronic bracelet to monitor your movements.
